Particularly in the snowy winter months, numerous well groomed trails in our region prove irresistible for cross-country skiing. Most trails are open, so you can simply strap on your skis and set off at the public access points.
For all those who like to be sure of getting snow, the training trails at the Sportzentrum Zeltweg and the Hoftalloipe (Hoftal trail) in Kobenz are ideal. Snow cannons are used to ensure safe cross-country skiing even when darkness falls ‒ lit up by floodlights on many an evening, guests can enjoy unlimited cross-country skiing delight.
Possibly the most remarkable place for cross-country skiing is the Red Bull Ring. Here you can go cross-country skiing or even tackle a biathlon, in the very place where the world's fastest cars otherwise do their laps.
