Hauseck Tour

Open
Our "family tour" in the www.murtal.at here even less experienced mountaineers get to their summit climb.
The Hauseckrunde is just the thing for a family hike in the Murtal region. The circuit can be completed in about 2 hours, is somewhat challenging due to a few inclines / declines, but does not overtax.

What especially pleases the children: there is a summit cross! Furthermore, from the Hauseck - although with 1982m one of our lower peaks - you have a wonderful view of the surrounding mountains and Großer and Kleiner Scheibelsee.

More information

B114, at the top of the pass turn onto Neue Tauernstraße, keep left to Edelrautestraße. Then take the toll road to the Scheibelalm parking lot.

For the toll road you have to pay a road use fee (electronic barrier):

€ 8,- cars | € 8,- motorcycles | € 40,- buses -€ 50,- annual ticket for cars (not commercial!).Reserve your toll ticket gladly also online HERE:https://hohentauern.arivo.app/€ 6,- motorcycles with pre-reserved toll ticket.

Starting point of the tour is the parking lot at the Scheibelalm. The route leads along a gravel path or a lovingly designed path to the Edelraute hut. From there you walk along a forest trail (R1) and continue over some steps to the Großer Scheibelsee. There you keep to the right in the direction of the Großer Bösenstein ascent. There follows a somewhat steeper ascent over a brush slope, which finally ends in a flatter ridge. There you will find the junction, to the right it is now not far to the summit cross of the Hauseck. The descent follows the ridge, it becomes steeper again towards the valley until it crosses the R7. Here you continue to keep to the right and finally arrive in a large arc around the Kleiner Scheibelsee back to the Edelrautehütte.
If you want to extend the tour, you can go around the Großer Scheibelsee before the ascent and take a photo at the "7th heavenly place".
